Since its inception in 1935, The British Club has been more than just a social space; it has been a gathering point for people from all walks of life.
The Club has fostered friendships, strengthened cultural ties and provided a welcoming environment for both Bahrainis and expatriates alike. Through the decades it has remained a hub for individuals to connect, engage and build lasting relationships.
From its early days, when the British Club was a symbol of British expatriate life in Bahrain, to the present, where it is now a vibrant melting pot of cultures, the Club has continuously adapted to meet the needs of its members and the wider society. Its role in promoting sports, leisure, and community service has helped to build bridges and strengthen bonds between people of different nationalities and backgrounds.
To observe this significant milestone, the club will be having two days of celebrations, commencing with a black tie dinner on Thursday 6th February for our long standing members which will comprise of our honorary members, members with over 25 years of continued membership, our esteemed committee plus our very special guest H. E. British Ambassador to Bahrain Mr. Alastair Long.
The following day, on Friday 7th February there will be a super 90th anniversary party which is free and open to everyone. The event will be filled with plenty of activities, games, fun, live music along with a British themed bazaar and also The Great British Bake off competition! So please keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook pages for more details.
As we celebrate this remarkable 90-year journey, we look forward to the continued growth of the British Club Bahrain. Its legacy is not only one of history, but of impact- impact that has shaped the community of Bahrain for the better and will undoubtedly continue to do so in the years to come.
Here’s to the past 90 years of camaraderie, growth, and service, and to the bright future that lies ahead for the British Club Bahrain and its vibrant community.
